Wireless I/O Modules Selection Guide

Use this guide to select a Y401, Y402, Y403, or Y412 Wireless I/O Module by control relationship, I/O count, and operating mode. The Y401/Y402/Y403 modules use a private LoRa link to carry passive dry-contact or NPN open-collector states to SPDT relay outputs; Y412 adds configurable 2-, 4-, and 8-channel master/slave control. No SIM card, Internet connection, or LoRaWAN gateway is required for the basic link. Never apply voltage directly to a DI terminal.

The specified range is up to 10 km in open areas. Treat this as a planning value, not a guaranteed distance: model, antenna, mounting height, obstructions, interference, and local site conditions determine the usable range.

Y401 — Point-to-Point I/O Mirroring

Choose Y401 when two fixed locations need corresponding relay actions in both directions. A factory-paired Device A and Device B carry each channel state across the private LoRa link; the remote relay follows the input state.

Common Y401 facts

  • Point-to-point and bidirectional; no controller, gateway, or software configuration is required for the matched pair.
  • 9–36 VDC module supply; each channel uses a passive DI and an SPDT relay DO.
  • Relay rating: AC 277 V / 5 A or DC 28 V / 5 A. Use an external contactor for larger or inductive loads.

Y402 — One-to-Many I/O Mapping

Choose Y402 when one master location must exchange states with one or more slave locations. Master inputs distribute to the matching slave outputs, while slave inputs can return status to the master.

Common Y402 facts

  • Use one master with one or more factory-paired slaves; the system can be expanded within the product specification.
  • Select Y402-4411-L when one contact must trigger four outputs at each remote point.
  • 9–36 VDC module supply and SPDT relay outputs; relay contacts do not supply load voltage.

Y403 — Multi-Node Linkage

Y403 is a single-model family: Y403-11-L. Choose it when a distributed site needs coordinated auxiliary outputs rather than a single master/slave relationship. Any node input can energize the linked node outputs, and nodes can automatically forward signals to extend the practical path.

Y403 is not a certified emergency-stop or personnel-safety system. Keep an independently certified safety path for those functions and validate multi-hop delay for any timing-sensitive control.

Y412 — Configurable Wireless I/O

Choose Y412 when the installation needs a configurable channel count or operating mode rather than one fixed Y401/Y402/Y403 topology. The family is available as 2DI + 2DO, 4DI + 4DO, or 8DI + 8DO, with one master and one or more slave devices configured for the site.
