Y812 — Industrial Audible & Visual Alarm Technical Manual
This manual applies to the Y812-AV public model and its three configurations:
- 02K
- 04K
- 05K
Use the model specification and the delivered production drawing as the authority for the exact wiring, protocol, enclosure, and power configuration.

1. Safety and scope
Y812 products provide auxiliary audible and visual warning for industrial equipment and sites. They are not a substitute for an emergency-stop circuit, a certified fire-alarm panel, a life-safety system, or a safety-rated control circuit.
The supplied catalog lists DC 12-24 V and AC 220 V options for all three configurations. A qualified electrician must install AC 220 V versions. Disconnect all power before opening the enclosure or changing power, trigger, or communication wiring.
The catalog does not include a complete protocol manual for the 02K, 04K, or 05K configuration. This document defines the common product and commissioning boundary without inventing register addresses or pinouts.
2. Configuration selection
| Public model | Configuration | Main use |
|---|---|---|
| Y812-AV | 02K | 30 W, six-input RS485 / RS232 sounder-beacon |
| Y812-AV | 04K | 30 W, six-input RS485 / RS232 sounder-beacon |
| Y812-AV | 05K | 50 W, four-input RS485 / Modbus / RS232 wall-mounted sounder-beacon |
Keep the 02K, 04K, and 05K configuration visible on the purchase order and service record. They do not share the same dimensions, power, input count, or protection rating.
3. Installation
3.1 Preparation
- Confirm the configuration and the supply option.
- Obtain the exact wiring diagram and protocol sheet for that configuration.
- Confirm the enclosure dimensions and mounting holes.
- Select a power supply and cable size that support the output power.
- Disconnect all power before wiring.
3.2 Power
Connect the ordered unit according to the terminal labels. Do not assume that a DC input and an AC input can be energized at the same time. Verify the delivered terminal arrangement before applying power.
The catalog lists the following output levels:
| Configuration | Output power |
|---|---|
| 02K | 30 W |
| 04K | 30 W |
| 05K | 50 W |
Allow for startup and alarm-state current when selecting the power supply. The supplied catalog does not state complete-unit current values.
3.3 Mounting and protection
The 02K and 04K configurations use screw mounting and are listed as IP55. The 05K configuration uses wall mounting and is listed as IP65. Use the ordered configuration's protection rating; do not apply IP65 to the 02K or 04K enclosure.
Seal cable entries and mounting openings in a way that preserves the delivered enclosure rating. Do not drill or modify the housing without a design review.
4. Communication commissioning
The catalog identifies:
- RS485 and RS232 for 02K
- RS485 and RS232 for 04K
- RS485, Modbus, and RS232 for 05K
The supplied catalog does not state the serial defaults, Modbus register map, RS232 electrical level, CRC method, address range, or connector pinout. Obtain those details from the supplier before connecting the product to a controller.
Recommended commissioning sequence:
- Connect only one device to the controller.
- Confirm the interface type and terminal labels from the drawing.
- Set the controller's serial parameters to the values supplied for the exact configuration.
- Test one trigger or one documented command.
- Confirm the local light and sound response.
- Record the address and communication settings.
- Add additional devices only after each address is unique and verified.
Do not copy the Y811 register map to Y812. The public family names are different, and the source material does not establish protocol compatibility.
5. Trigger inputs
| Configuration | Trigger inputs listed in catalog | Confirmation required |
|---|---|---|
| 02K | Six switch inputs | Electrical input type, common terminal, active state, and isolation |
| 04K | Six switch inputs | Electrical input type, common terminal, active state, and isolation |
| 05K | Four switch inputs | Electrical input type, common terminal, active state, and isolation |
The phrase switch input does not establish whether the terminal accepts a dry contact, a powered signal, NPN, PNP, or an isolated input. Confirm the exact wiring before applying voltage.
6. Optional functions
The catalog lists microwave sensing and remote-control options for the 05K configuration. Treat these as ordered configuration options, not as standard functions of every Y812-AV unit.
Confirm the following before commissioning an option:
- Sensor model and supply
- Detection range and adjustment
- Trigger priority when both communication and sensor inputs are active
- Remote-control channel and operating distance
- Fail-safe behavior after communication or power loss
7. Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not start | Wrong supply or wiring | Check the model label, voltage option, polarity, and terminal assignment |
| No sound or light | Trigger not active or output command not accepted | Test one local input and one documented command |
| RS485 does not reply | Wrong A/B, address, baud, or protocol | Obtain the model-specific protocol sheet and test one device |
| RS232 does not work | Wrong electrical level or pinout | Stop wiring and verify the production drawing |
| Inputs behave unexpectedly | Input type or active level is wrong | Confirm dry-contact, NPN, PNP, or isolated-input requirements |
| Enclosure shows water ingress | Cable entry or mounting damaged | Power off, inspect the seal, and restore the rated installation |
| 05K option does not trigger | Sensor or remote option is absent or misconfigured | Confirm the ordered option and its wiring |
8. Confirmation checklist
Before publishing a final installation drawing or software driver, confirm:
- Configuration: 02K, 04K, or 05K
- Supply option and complete-unit current
- RS485 protocol and register map
- RS232 electrical level and connector
- Trigger input type and active state
- Default address and serial parameters
- Audio file format and memory replacement method
- Enclosure drawing, mounting holes, cable entry, and final IP marking
- Optional sensor or remote-control configuration
