1. Overview

The Y402-41-L is a one-to-many Wireless I/O Module system based on LoRa modulation with a four-to-one channel mapping design. It combines a 4DI/4DO master unit with one or more 1DI/1DO slave units. Each slave uses one independent master channel, so one master can serve up to four one-channel remote points.

Y402-41-L control diagram

Operating Logic

  • Master to slave: when master DI1 to DI4 is closed, the DO on the slave assigned to that channel energizes
  • Slave to master: when a slave DI is closed, the corresponding DO1 to DO4 on the master energizes
  • The corresponding master and slave outputs reset when the associated input returns to open
  • Four independent channels provide bidirectional transmission between the master and assigned one-channel slaves

7. Installation and Wiring

Input Wiring

No voltage input on DI

The digital input (DI) is not a voltage-input terminal. It is strictly forbidden to connect any powered signal or voltage source to DI.

Correct wiring: connect only a passive dry contact or an NPN open-collector output between DI and COM. Do not connect sensor power, PLC voltage output, or any external voltage directly to DI.

Mechanical switches (maintained switch, float switch, relay contact):

  • Connect directly between DI and COM
  • No external power supply is required

NPN open-collector output:

  • Output transistor collector -> DI
  • Output transistor emitter / 0V reference -> COM
  • Do not connect sensor power or any voltage output to DI

Output Wiring

Direct load (<= 1 kW resistive load):

  • Wire the load in series with the relay output

High-power load (> 1 kW):

  • Use an AC contactor or external power relay

Installation Notes

  1. Install the antenna vertically in an open area, about 2 m above ground.
  2. Keep the unit away from large metal structures.
  3. Tighten the antenna connector securely.
  4. Mount the unit inside the control cabinet on a 35 mm DIN rail.
  5. Place the master near the center of the coverage area whenever possible.
  6. Leave enough space for ventilation.

System Expansion

To add a new slave unit:

  1. Power on the new one-channel slave.
  2. Pair it with an unused master channel using the pairing button.
  3. Wait for the assigned channel link indicator to remain on before connecting the remote circuit.

8. Important Notes

  1. Communication mode - Half-duplex communication, not intended for hard real-time control.
  2. Frequency range - Recommended operating range is 398 to 525 MHz. Performance may degrade outside this range.
  3. Antenna placement - Install the antenna vertically in an open area and keep it away from metal obstructions.
  4. Master/slave topology - Only one master unit is allowed in each system. Use up to four one-channel slave units, with one slave assigned to each master channel.
  5. Four-to-one mapping - Each master DI/DO channel maps bidirectionally to one assigned slave DI/DO channel.
