Y40 Wireless I/O Modules overview

YenGear Wireless I/O Modules extend digital control and analog measurement signals over a private LoRa link. Digital models connect passive field inputs to relay outputs; Y401 analog models reproduce remote analog inputs at corresponding analog outputs. The Y401, Y402, and Y403 families cover point-to-point, one-to-many, and multi-node linkage relationships; Y412 adds configurable 2-, 4-, and 8-channel master/slave control. No SIM card, Internet connection, or LoRaWAN gateway is required for the basic link.

Range depends on the model: the digital models below specify up to 10 km in open areas; Y401-0011-L specifies up to 5 km; Y401-0044-L range remains to be confirmed. Actual range depends on antenna installation, obstructions, interference, and site conditions. DI terminals accept only passive dry contacts or NPN open-collector outputs; analog terminals require the signal type specified for the selected model.

Analog I/O Models

Both analog models use a point-to-point link and have no DI or DO channels. Channel counts below are per module.

The four-digit code follows DI / DO / AI / AO: 0011 means 0DI + 0DO + 1AI + 1AO; 0044 means 0DI + 0DO + 4AI + 4AO. Confirm the Y401-0044-L signal selection method before ordering. Its model-specific performance parameters remain under verification.

Each specification includes two-, three-, and four-wire current connection examples. The Y401-0044-L specification also describes 0-10 V wiring; the two-wire current-loop example applies only to 4-20 mA.

Y412 — Configurable Wireless I/O

Y412 is the configurable multi-channel member of the Wireless I/O Modules family. Choose 2DI + 2DO, 4DI + 4DO, or 8DI + 8DO hardware, then set the master/slave role and control mode for the site. Bidirectional follow and unidirectional feedback modes support remote start/stop, valve and pump control, lighting groups, and other auxiliary relay applications.

These modules are for auxiliary control and signalling. Do not use the wireless link as the sole emergency-stop, personnel-safety, or hard-real-time control path. High-power or inductive loads require a correctly rated contactor and suppression.

Choose a Model

  1. Select the control relationship: two points (Y401), one-to-many (Y402), or multi-node linkage (Y403); choose Y412 when configurable master/slave modes are a better fit.
  2. Select digital or analog I/O. For analog signals, choose 0011 for 1AI + 1AO at 4-20 mA, or 0044 for 4AI + 4AO at 4-20 mA or 0-10 V. For digital models, select the DI/DO count and, for Y402-4411-L, the 1-to-4 mapping. For Y412, choose the 2-, 4-, or 8-channel variant and operating mode.
  3. Confirm range, antenna placement, supply, wiring, and the relevant relay or analog signal ratings in the model specification.
