Y305 PLC I/O Modules Technical Documentation
For Y305-4400, Y305-4421, Y305-8800, and Y305-8821.
Start here
- Choosing a model: compare channels, output hardware, options, and size in the Specification.
- Installing a unit: identify terminals, connect the supply and signals, and perform basic checks with the User Manual.
- Programming for the first time: use the Programming Guide for tool preparation and a no-output exercise before designing a machine sequence.
- Diagnosing a fault: use the User Manual's common checks first, then Commissioning and Troubleshooting for a detailed test sequence.
For a first bench setup, follow User Manual → Programming Guide → User Manual I/O checks. Keep actuators and other output loads isolated. Add analog tests only for 4421/8821, and serial tests only when RS485 is fitted.
Look up or implement a function
| Need | Document |
|---|---|
| A register, device area, serial format, instruction fragment, or PID parameter | Technical Manual |
| A relay/NPN circuit and a hysteresis/delay control sequence | Wiring and Applications |
| Voltage scaling, valid feedback, and a bounded analog control loop | Analog and PID Guide |
| A first Modbus read, host commands, PLC polling, or RS frame handling | Modbus Integration Guide |
| Commissioning results, restart/fault tests, or return to service | Commissioning and Troubleshooting |
Program examples are designs to implement and test on the intended hardware and firmware. Register-reference material is not a substitute for wiring instructions or a completed commissioning record.
