Y811-52V — Visual Signaling Alarm Technical Manual
This manual covers the Y811-52V visual-only beacon in its three-color and seven-color configurations. Use the matching Y811-52V specification as the authority for the ordered supply, mounting, dimensions, and protection rating.
1. Safety and scope
Y811-52V provides auxiliary visual warning. It is not an emergency-stop circuit, a certified fire-alarm panel, a life-safety system, or a safety-rated control circuit.
Confirm the color configuration and the delivered wiring label before installation. The listed supply is DC 12-24 V. Disconnect power before wiring, changing the mounting, or opening the enclosure.
The product catalog lists IP55, while the supplied three-color manual lists IP65. Use the marking on the delivered unit and the confirmed order configuration as the final authority.
2. Configurations and interfaces
| Configuration | Confirmed control | Audio | Communication status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three-color | Three switch inputs and Modbus RTU over RS485 | None | Detailed RS485 protocol manual supplied |
| Seven-color | Modbus control | None | Complete transport and command details require confirmation |
The two configurations use the same 52-class product form. Do not copy the three-color register map or wire definition to the seven-color configuration without confirmation.
3. Installation and wiring
- Confirm the ordered color configuration and the model label.
- Use a regulated DC 12-24 V supply and observe polarity.
- Mount the beacon through the panel opening or with the supplied bracket.
- Keep RS485 wiring away from high-current and high-frequency switching wires.
- Assign a unique address before connecting multiple three-color units to one bus.
- Confirm the final ingress-protection marking after the ordered configuration is received.
For the three-color configuration, the supplied manual identifies the yellow conductor as A+ and the green conductor as B-. Wire colors can change between product variants; follow the label on the delivered cable. Do not connect an external voltage to a switch-input terminal until its electrical type has been confirmed.
4. Three-color Modbus RTU commissioning
The supplied three-color manual documents these serial parameters:
| Parameter | Supplied manual value |
|---|---|
| Physical interface | RS485 |
| Default device address | 01 |
| Default baud rate | 9600 bit/s |
| Data bits | 8 |
| Stop bits | 1 |
| Parity | Not stated in the supplied manual |
| Error checking | CRC16 |
| Common function code | 06, write single register |
Confirm parity from the delivered configuration or protocol revision before commissioning. Use a short test cable and one device first. Calculate CRC16 for the complete frame; do not reuse a CRC value after changing the address or data.
5. Three-color light control
The supplied manual documents:
- Function code 06 for writing a control value
- Register
00C2for direct light control - Register
0070for querying the current light state - Register
000Bfor changing the baud rate - Register
00C0for changing the device address - Steady, slow-flash, and rapid-flash modes
- Color values for red, yellow, green, white, blue, cyan, purple, and off in the documented command family
The output mode and color are encoded in the command value. Use the delivered configuration and protocol revision as the final authority.
6. Seven-color configuration
The catalog identifies the seven-color configuration as Modbus-controlled, but it does not provide the complete transport definition, register map, default parameters, or color command values. Confirm those items before software integration. Do not apply the three-color register map to the seven-color unit.
7. Troubleshooting and maintenance
| Symptom | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| No light | Wrong supply, reversed polarity, or disabled output | Check DC voltage, polarity, terminal labels, and the local command |
| RS485 unit does not reply | A/B reversed, wrong address, baud, parity, or CRC | Test one three-color unit and restore confirmed parameters |
| Several units interfere | Duplicate addresses or unsuitable bus wiring | Assign unique addresses and use a daisy-chain bus |
| Protection is uncertain | Catalog and manual use different IP ratings | Use the delivered marking and order confirmation |
Inspect terminals, cable routing, mounting hardware, and the light window during scheduled maintenance.
8. Confirmation items
- Final IP rating for the delivered configuration
- Seven-color transport, address, serial parameters, and command values
- Final connector and wire-color definition
- Switch-input electrical type and active level
