Y811-75AV — Multi-Color Sounder-Beacon Technical Manual
This manual covers the Y811-75AV three-color and seven-color sounder-beacon configurations. Use the Y811-75AV specification as the authority for the ordered supply, protection rating, dimensions, mounting, and color configuration.
1. Safety and scope
Y811-75AV provides auxiliary audible and visual warning. It is not an emergency-stop circuit, a certified fire-alarm panel, a life-safety system, or a safety-rated control circuit.
Confirm the color configuration and the delivered wiring label before installation. The catalog lists DC 12-24 V or AC 220 V; the supplied three-color manual lists DC 9-30 V. Use the supply range printed on the ordered unit and disconnect power before wiring or replacing audio files.
The product catalog lists IP55, while the supplied three-color manual lists IPX65. Use the marking on the delivered unit as the final authority.
2. Configurations and common parameters
| Configuration | Main output | Control | Audio/light status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three-color | Audible and visual, 5 W | Three switch inputs and standard Modbus over RS485 | Detailed audio and light-control manual supplied |
| Seven-color | Audible and visual, 5 W | Three switch inputs and standard Modbus listed in the catalog | Complete color command values and shared audio behavior require confirmation |
Both configurations use 8 MB memory, ABS construction, screw or magnetic mounting, and a 49 x 75 mm form factor according to the supplied sources.
3. Installation and wiring
- Confirm the color configuration and model label.
- Use the supply range printed on the ordered unit. Do not resolve the catalog/manual voltage difference by assumption.
- Use screw or magnetic mounting only where the surface and vibration level are suitable.
- Keep RS485 wiring separated from high-power switching wires.
- Assign a unique device address on a shared bus.
- Replace audio files with the unit powered off and disconnect the USB cable before powering the unit again.
The supplied three-color manual identifies the yellow conductor as A+ and the green conductor as B-. Wire colors can change between variants; follow the delivered label or production drawing. Do not connect an external voltage to a switch-input terminal until its electrical type has been confirmed.
4. Three-color Modbus RTU commissioning
The supplied three-color manual documents these parameters:
| Parameter | Supplied manual value |
|---|---|
| Physical interface | RS485 |
| Default device address | 01 |
| Default baud rate | 9600 bit/s |
| Data bits | 8 |
| Stop bits | 1 |
| Parity | Not stated in the supplied manual |
| Error checking | CRC16 |
| Common function codes | 03 read holding registers; 06 write single register |
Use a short test cable and one device first. Calculate CRC16 for the complete frame. Do not reuse a CRC value after changing the address or data.
5. Three-color audio and light control
The supplied three-color manual documents:
- MP3 audio with a bit rate of up to 192 kbps
- Frequency response of 70 Hz to 13 kHz
- Volume setting range of 0-100
- Built-in 8 MB flash memory
- USB replacement of stored audio files
- File playback, song playback, volume, baud-rate, device-address, playback-status, file-count, current-track, and light-state command groups
- Light-state combinations that can be sent with playback commands
Use the command groups from the delivered protocol revision. The technical manual does not define seven-color command values from the three-color examples.
6. Seven-color configuration
The catalog lists three switch inputs and standard Modbus for the seven-color configuration, but it does not provide the complete color command table. Confirm the seven-color register values, audio behavior, and file-replacement method before software integration. Do not copy the three-color light or audio command values without confirmation.
7. Troubleshooting and maintenance
| Symptom | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| No light or sound | Wrong supply, reversed polarity, or disabled output | Check the ordered voltage, polarity, terminal labels, and local command |
| RS485 unit does not reply | A/B reversed, wrong address, baud, parity, or CRC | Test one unit and restore confirmed serial parameters |
| Several units interfere | Duplicate addresses or unsuitable bus wiring | Assign unique addresses and use a daisy-chain bus |
| Light works but audio does not | Missing file, unsupported command, or visual-only configuration | Check the color configuration, audio storage, and command revision |
| Protection is uncertain | Catalog and manual use different IP ratings | Use the delivered marking and order confirmation |
Inspect terminals, cable routing, mounting hardware, the light window, and sound openings during scheduled maintenance.
8. Confirmation items
- Final supply range for the ordered unit
- Final ingress-protection marking
- Seven-color command values and audio/file behavior
- Final wire colors, connector, and mounting drawing
- Switch-input electrical type and active level
